Imani D. Johnson

Imani D. Johnson is a screenwriter and producer currently living in Atlanta, GA with a love of building dynamic worlds full of complicated characters while using genre to make sense of the absurd. After earning her Bachelor of Fine Art degree in Theatre Design and Technology at West Virginia University, Imani moved to Philadelphia to pursue her career in theatre production as a props management apprentice for the Walnut Street Theatre and later as a production apprentice at InterAct Theatre Company. While in Philadelphia, Imani began producing projects for a local production company, OMG! Studios, where she gained experience producing a variety of festivals (Fade to Black: Issa Black Philly Film Festival, Sheesh! Issa Blackity Black Joy Fest, and A TV Guide Play Festival), art shows (Open House and Eggnog Cafe), podcasts (The Fade to Black Podcast and Home w/ the Homies), and web series (Follow Your Taste Buds and Agents of Black Joy). In 2025, Imani graduated from Stephens College with a Master of Fine Arts in TV and Screenwriting.
